Man ruins Game of Thrones with series of novels full of spoilers

The entertainment industry was today warning fans of the popular HBO series Game Of Thrones to avoid ‘at all costs’ a series of books by a rogue enthusiast named George R.R. Martin, who has written five whole volumes consisting solely of spoilers for the popular television show.

“This man is dangerous and wants to ruin everyone’s enjoyment of a much-loved fantasy drama.” said executive producer D. B. Weiss. “It’s a sad symptom of today’s ‘binge’ culture that people can’t just wait and enjoy things as they are released. They want everything at once.”

“I cannot stress quite how irresponsible it is for someone to write out the whole series, add more detail, go back in time and then publish it for innocent people to purchase and read thus spoiling the series for them. Who does this Martin guy think he is?”

Some of the books in question, which add up to a total of some 4,200 pages, contain so many spoilers that they have had to be split into volumes. HBO executives are investigating how Martin is able to work on new editions set far in advance of the current TV series.

TV fan Simon Rix told us he “picked up a copy of one of the books thinking it was a companion piece or a spin-off from the TV show, but after reading all of them in one week, I had the whole show ruined for me in intricate detail. There were characters I’d never heard of, plot lines that went way off course, and not nearly as much nudity.”

“It’s hugely upsetting to think that there are people who are reading these so called books who don’t even know that they are entirely plagiarised from the TV series,” continued Mr Rix. ”Those poor bastards will never know how hot Daenerys really is from some bullshit wordy description.”

This is beautiful and it’s amazing to me that it had such a positive outcome and not lifelong hateful grudges, which is probably what these attackers deserved.

I honestly have no words for how beautiful this is. Forgiveness and love - they’re powerful things.

Keep in mind that these people were supposed to be from two different “races” that were set by the Belgians. The hutus and the tutsi’s. These people could be siblings, but one “race” was still considered to be supreme over the other.

The Rwandan Genocide is a tragedy that really needs to get more attention than it does. 500,000–1,000,000 people were murdered, the vast majority being Tutsis; however, Hutus were also killed if they didn’t support the genocide, tried to help Tutsis, or basically showed any signs of humanity that could be considered “traitorous.”

It’s really fantastic how these people have been able to atone for their crimes, and it’s even more fantastic how the victims have been able to move on and forgive the people who did all of those awful things to them. I’ve read a lot about the genocide (thanks to being in a Holocaust class where we also covered several other genocides), and I have to say that the Rwandan people are pretty incredible; there are stories all over the place about Tutsis who have spoken out against the dangers of perpetuating hate, and they (rightly) point out that only forgiveness and compassion can break the cycle of hate and devastation that started the genocide in the first place.

Finally, I highly recommend this memoir, called Left to Tell, by a truly amazing young woman named Immaculee Ilibagiza.

Like these pictures, Left to Tell really highlights the amazing power of forgiveness. The memoir covers Immaculee’s idillic childhood and teen years in Rwanda before her life was torn apart by radical Hutus who started a campaign of genocide throughout the country. Much of it centers around Immaculee’s devout Catholic faith and how it was able to help her forgive the people who murdered her family.

And before people go “Oh, it’s about a Catholic, why would I want to read that?” you should know that Immaculee is one of the most beautiful and inspirational people I’ve ever come across and learning her story really helped me in a lot of ways. Not only do you hear the firsthand experience of one of the bloodiest and most tragic genocides in history, you are also exposed to the true strength and vitality of the human spirit and what it really means to forgive.
